We are excited to announce that Jason Robillard will be coming to our gym for barefoot running workshops!
Personally, I owe Jason a huge thank you. Over the years I’ve beat my body up pretty good including spraining both my ankles endless times, breaking both of them, and having surgery on one of them. The surgeon told me I only have a little cartilage left and if I destroy what’s left I will need to have my ankle fused. She said my running days are over. Since surgery I couldn’t run at all without feeling an overbearing pain shoot through my ankle. Running like most people (heel striking) destroys me and would certainly lead to having my ankle fused. About four years after surgery I went to one of Jason’s barefoot running workshops. It changed my life. I can now run! Getting away from that dreaded heel strike and using gravity to pull me forward has made running a pleasure. I want everyone to learn to run the way Jason can expertly teach you to. I’m confident you will be pleased if you attend one or many of Jason’s workshops. Below is Jason’s workshop schedule at the gym.
•Tuesday August 17th, 7:00-9:00 at Schuler Books in Grand Rapids
This workshop will also include a talk by Dr. Dave Asselin of PT 360, a physical therapist versed in treating running injuries
•Tuesday August 24th, 7:30-9:30pm
•Saturday September 18th, 12:00-2:00pm
•Thursday October 21st, 7:30-9:30pm
The workshops will cost $10. There is no need to reserve a spot, just show up. If you have any questions you can contact me (Brandon) at 616-916-7210 or via email at contactus@crossfitgr.com.
NEW REQUIREMENT FOR NEW MEMBERS!
If you are considering joining our gym you can stop in for a free workout…no strings attached. There will be no paperwork or promises required. Just stop in, workout, and decided if it is what you are looking for.
If you decide you want to join us. There will be a new requirement. You will have to schedule a one hour private session. This will allow us to get your personal information, learn what your goals are, and put you on the path to achieve those goals. We tried to do this initial meeting before, during, or after the workouts, but the needs of our current members don’t usually allow this to happen. We want everything we do to be top quality. By doing a private one hour session with our brand new members, we will be able to focus on the needs of every person better.
